A Day with a Longarm Quilter

~ from the Nov/Dec newsletter

On September 28, 4 members of the Comfort Quilts program attended a fabulous longarm quilting day at the home of Sandy Lindal. Thanks to Sandy for her extremely generous offer of her home, longarm quilting machine, expertise and time.

During the day, 3 Comfort Quilt tops were successfully quilted by Anne, Diane, Carmen and Jackie. The day was filled with fun and laughs from our follies and our proud successes. By the end of the day we were brain numb, fairly accomplished longarm quilters, but best of all were the huge smiles from the enormous learning experience. Thank you so much, Sandy, for a perfect day.

Sandy has been a longarm quilter for the past 8 years and offers her services to those who choose not to quilt their own quilts. She spoke at our meeting last year, and will also be leading a workshop in December at Neilson Park for those wanting to learn how to bust their scrap stash – ask Chris Brody about remaining space in the workshop.
