The Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild (EQG) was formed in 1975 with the aim of inspiring and encouraging the art of quilting. Since then, the guild has grown to more than 140 members and incorporates a wide range of interests and skill levels. Membership is open to anyone interested in any aspect of quilting.
Here’s what members say about quilting at EQG:
“A world of quilting in one room filled with experience, knowledge, resources and ever-giving quilters.”
“A great place to learn. The workshops and retreats are fun and great opportunities to develop my skills.”
“Quilting is my creative outlet — a way for me to relax, and I have something tangible to show for it.”
“The process requires some brain activity, a bit of math, and a sense of colour.”
The Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild is a resident group at the Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC) — home to a variety of creative guilds and art groups. This location, which provides bright and spacious studios, is open days, evenings and weekends, where members work on projects, and attend workshops and monthly meetings. EQG membership includes many of the privileges and activities of NPCC’s galleries and fellow guild residents.
Here’s what members say about our location:
“A beautiful spacious studio where one can work on projects while enjoying the company of quilters in a welcoming and nurturing environment.”
“Workspace that I get to spread out in and use; it’s so much better than home.”
“Free parking, and with the gallery and other guilds, inspiration is all around you.”
