Add another border / borders to the quilt in the same way that frames were sewn around the centre quilt block. I am going to make my borders the same to keep the continuity going in the quilt. (hint: next round is more blocks…slightly smaller)
To review steps to date:
- Medallion centre square – Make a 12½” block (unfinished) of your choice. The block can be pieced, appliquéd, traditional or modern or a combination of techniques. You could even
use a panel or large print. - Border 1 – Suitable fabric choices for this frame are small scale prints, solids or blenders. The border or combination of borders, if you do two smaller borders, needs to be a total of
3½”. the block is now 15½“ - Border 2 – The second border (6” or 9” blocks) If you chose 6” blocks, you will need to make
16 blocks; 9” blocks requires 12 blocks. Your block is now 21½” or 24½”
