February 8 at 9:30 am - 5:00 pm$75 – $85
Saturday, February 8, 2020, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Neilson Park Creative Centre, 56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke
In this class students will learn a new approach to deconstructing/improv strip
piecing and create a late summer’s eve city scape, including bright lights, dark
skies and modern tower blocks, filling this quilt in a modern way with a new
approach to quilting I call Overlay Quilting.
In the morning students will explore value, learn how to Improv strip-piece and
build dark skies and modern tower blocks and will complete making their quilt top.
In the afternoon students will learn several modern quilting motifs including grid
work, matchstick and overlay quilting. This workshop provides a great space for
exploring freedom of choice. All students are encouraged to work past the
guidelines and create a one of a kind 18-inch square modern quilt.
Fees and Supplies:
• $75 for Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild members; $85 for non-guild members
• $25 materials fee
Peter’s biography: I love quilting and I love teaching quilting. I’m an award winning, and soon to be published modern quilter and teacher with a deep passion for innovation, who consistently maintains a fresh approach, original design and technical mastery.
Bringing 10 years’ experience in the classroom, I value creating a supportive atmosphere and have taught basic, intermediate and advanced levels. My students would describe me as being knowledgeable, well organized, positive and caring, but most importantly an incredibly patient teacher.
My goal is innovation, my passion is creativity and my gift is having opportunities to share new technics with you, and your friends in the quilting community.
