Quilt Fever 2010 Raffle Winners We wish to congratulate the winners of the 2010 Quilt Fever Raffle Draw, held at the show on Sunday March 28th at 3:30 p.m. We were honoured to have MPP Donna Cansfield make the draws. The First Prize Quilt was won by L. Pavlov of Toronto, Ticket #5353. The Second Prize Quilt was won by S. Jorgensen of Toronto, Ticket # 1205. In addition, a small cushion, (a Quilt Fever 2010
Bonus Prize) was won by R. and J. King of London ON. A very big “Thank you” goes out to everyone in the guild who sold Raffle Tickets, either as individuals or as EQG representatives at venues. Hi Here we are in Kangiqsujuaq, P.Q. Looks cold but not bad. Some days
we are teaching afternoons and evening and some are all day. Today we
had a power outage for most of the afternoon. Do not have internet
every day so will keep in touch when I can. Mary Ito interviewed Donna Boksa and Yvette Fournier for
her program Fresh Air on CBC Radio3 on Saturday October 3rd. "The art of quilting has been exploding in popularity not just among the younger crowd and men but geographically as well. Two quilters from Toronto have been invited to a Northen Quebec community to teach their craft. Yvette Fournier and Donna Boksa are members of the Etobicoke Quilters Guild. They joined Mary to talk about the trip...and the appeal of quilting.
