Winner of the Garnet Tracy Award
Wedding Quilt #2 by Gail Gallow After 17 years, Ken and Tracy's wedding quilt, a green and white Feathered Star, was worn out so they asked for a new one. They chose the Radiant Stars pattern from February 2002 American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. Beautiful quilt by ... Garden Twist by Dorothy Long This lap quilt is made from a kit by Keepsake Quilting using 'In the Beginning' fabrics. She added the trellis around the edges to individualize it. Daisy by Judy Makinson Daisy is an original design make for a Fall Fair Challenge using a 'Cow' Theme. The background fabric is a tone-on-tone daisy print. I like to brag that I won first prize for the submission, however it was the only one entered. Foxy Fiona by Norma Clarke This wall hanging was completed for the 'Quilter's Palette' Paint Can Challenge for 2008. I tied for third prize. The feature fabric used for the bird's body made me think of feathers and a big, puffy, awkward bird. I do enjoy doing hand applique. Clematis by Adele Gataveckas I designed this quilt while working with a favourite photograph of the Clematis growing on my garden fence. Polka Dot Delight by Jane Howell This is a comfort Quilt made with the fabric from our stock in the Studio C cupboard. This quilt will be donated as a fundraising Gala hosted by the Mississauga Support Group of the Scleroderma Society of Ontario. Note the 3D effect of the 2 block 1/2" strips in each square. Circle Dance by Sylvia Rzadkowski This quilt was a personal challenge for me. The pattern is from 'Elisa Back Porch Designs' and all the vibrant colours are something I usually do not choose. By the time I finished the quilt I was enjoying the breakout experience. Live Life by Jane Vickery Originally made for 'The Quilt 2010'. Unfortunately the auction for raising funds for cancer has closed after 11 years. I get to keep one! Hey Good Looking by Marjorie Cripps My daughter is a baker! It has been fun collecting the sweet fabric-good enough to eat and fewer calories. Mariner's Compass by Kim Maticiw Six years ago and 1 800 pieces sewn together have finally produced this Mariner's Compass quilt. I love that each block magically twinkles. Pattern by Anne Donaghy Designs. Machine quilted by Karine Chapleau.
Daisies and Rainbows by Susan Lawrie I bought this pattern at St. Jacob's. It appealed to me because it didn't have too much machine quilting and I love to do the hand quilting. Arabic Lattice by June Walton This is a quilt I started in a class taught by Kathleen Hatcher. It is from the book 'Quilts from Aunt Amy.' Tree of Life by Angela Backo Dresden Plate - Pointed by Miyuki Hamade The popular name for the quilt, 'Dresden Plate', reflects the romance of the Victorian Era with its love of elaborated decoration on household items and decor. Night Flowers by Erla Macauley I made a lot of hexagons from my stash and then had to decide how to put them together. This hanging is my original design for a hanging. Japanese Kimonos by Tiia Kikas This wall hanging was made in a workshop taught by Kim Maticiw. Drunkard's Path by Peggy Girvan I love working with muslin and scraps. I have made two 'Drunkard's Paths'. The other one is the reverse of this pattern. ... by Wendy Rosenthall The Universe is Square by Wendy Rosenthall This design is based on the Twister block. The novelty fabric from Ruti's was my inspiration for the design. Life in a Tree by Mary Salus The inspiration for this hanging was from a photo I took in For do Iguana, Brazil at the Bird Park near the waterfalls. The toucans were sociable and liked to be petted. Harlequin by Judy Makinson Harlequin by Arrdvark Quilts, was made for my sister. She saw the pattern and fell in love with the fabrics. Of course, each piece is on the bias, however that didn't deter me.
by Yvonne Lane by me, Pam Evans Daisys by Sarah Lord A friendship quilt. Happy Vine by Kathleen Boyle Hatcher Nothing stodgy about Piece O'Cake Designs! Even a devout piecer like me can't resist their whimsical Charm.
